Recitals

  1. The society intends to operate a society lottery under the Gambling Act 2005.
  2. The society intends to buy services from PLL (“The services”). These services will be provided on the terms laid out below.

The Services

PLL will provide the following services to the society:

  1. A licence to use the design of the lottery game. Introduction to prize insurance brokers to arrange prize insurance for the chosen scheme. (This is arranged by PLL)
  2. Provision of leaflets, entry forms, advertising posters and/or artwork as applicable.
  3. Setting up of a full administration system for the society to provide monthly accounting statements and listings of players gained and lost, prize winners and funds.
  4. Receipt of players entry forms and logging by computer. Setting up of bank standing order facilities for each player.
  5. Preparation and mailing of all Lottery correspondence letters to new players.
  6. Daily collection of winning numbers. Scanning of all current entries to identify winners. Liaison with prize insurance brokers to arrange for winners cheques to be created. Mailing of cheques or other prizes to winners.
  7. Preparation of full monthly reports and lottery returns to the society.
  8. To answer society enquiries during normal office hours, at the PLL Office.

Management

  1. The trustees or directors of the society will be solely responsible for agreeing the format of the lotteries, and properly constituting all internal resolutions necessary for its operation.
  2. The society will appoint a promoter, who will be a member or employee of the society. The promoter will be responsible for management of the lotteries and instruction of PLL on all matters concerning the lotteries.
  3. PLL may from time to time present promotional ideas and changes to the scheme. It will be the decision of the society, as expressed by the promoter, as to whether the society wishes to accept these ideas and incorporate them into the existing lottery scheme.
  4. The membership database remains the property of the society, all correspondence sent to the player by PLL is in relation to their entry in the lottery.

The Scheme

Amendments to this scheme as they affect the services, must be agreed by both parties before they become binding.

The Weather Lottery PLC is registered with The Gambling Commission as an External Lottery Manager
